Three teens were arrested after a football game Friday evening in Barnegat, New Jersey. Law enforcement fielded a report of a fight at the high school game. Police say that two teens had an altercation that began under the bleachers at the football stadium. They claim that the teens agreed to continue the fight outside the stadium, and moved to the entrance of the school on Bengal Boulevard.

Authorities say that an 18-year-old suffered a stab wound to his left bicep. Police responded to the school around 8:15 Friday evening and say that witnesses and the man who suffered the wound provided information that led police to suspect a 17-year-old of allegedly stabbing the 18-year-old. The wounded teen was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Meanwhile, the teen suspected in the stabbing reportedly had left the area before police responded to the report of the fight. An officer found the teen suspected of the stabbing shortly before 9:45 the same evening some distance from the school near a park on Beverly Drive with a second 18-year-old and a 16-year-old.

Authorities say that the two older teens fled toward a creek area. Each was later picked up by police. Law enforcement returned to the park and conducted a pat-down search of the 16-year-old. Officers say that the 16-year-old was intoxicated and uncooperative during the encounter. All three teens were arrested at the park.

Authorities claim that the knife allegedly used in the stabbing at the school was found on the 16-year-old during the pat-down search. Police further claim that the teen was found to be in possession of marijuana during the search.

New Jersey officials charged the 17-year-old with second-degree aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, unlawful possession of a weapon and resisting arrest. He was taken to the Ocean County Jail in Toms River, according to the Asbury Park Press.

The 18-year-old found in the park faces a charge of obstructing justice and was released.

The 16-year-old faces a charge of possession of marijuana. He was released to a guardian.
